Breed: Chow Shepherd Mix
Age: 10 Years
King came to us from Bakersfield Veterinary Hospital. He was brought in by a kind couple that saved him after he was hit by a car and left to die. We worked really hard to save his leg, but determined it was best to amputate it in order to save his life. King has not skipped a beat. He plays with his foster’s pack, knows how to use a dog door, loves all the snuggles and scratches he can get. King is even learning to share his food (resentfully). What he loves most is riding shotgun with his human!!!!!
King would do best in a home with no other animals. He enjoys kids, but prefers to spend his days lounging with his human, sitting in the grass watching his human pick up his messes, and following his human from room to room. He just wants to be where you are. He is a larger dog – approximately 65 pounds.
King has many years ahead of him and is low energy as long as there is not a cat in view. His foster believes the best home for King would be with a veteran so they can heal together, but any low energy home would make this boy happy.
