Wild Bill

Sex: Male
Breed: Lab X
Age: 12 years old
Did you know black dogs are 50% less likely to be adopted from a shelter?
And that large dogs are 50% less likely to be adopted from shelters?
And did you also know that seniors are >50% less likely to be adopted from a shelter?
I’d say the math wasn’t in this old guys favor but Marley’s Mutts doesn’t care about math!
If you haven’t yet been introduced to “Wild Bill,” let me introduce the myth, the man, the legend. Known by his friends as the Billster, you can call him Bill. He is the young age of... 12? He has that whole George Clooney thing going for him and he has quite the swag with the younger gals. His demeanor is chill and cool and he even let’s the human kiddos tug and love on him. He is about the coolest dog I know. Don’t let the gray hair fool you, just like Mr. Clooney, this gent just gets better with age.
Wild Bill loves to go hiking and walking at the park or is content to just sit on the couch and do absolutely nothing. He falls into the household routine like a pro. Young dogs, small dogs, big dogs, old dogs he loves them all!  For an older dog, he is really active and doesn’t have any restrictions whatsoever. I know that one of you out there is going to be his family, we just need to find you. Got a thing for handsome frosted faces? Apply to bring Wild Bill home today.

Peppa is good with other dogs both big and small. Her best friend in foster care was a medium size boy. Peppa weighs approximately 12lbs. Peppa is both house and crate trained and does well with respectful children.

Eliza

Sex: Female
Breed: English Bulldog
Age: 10-12 years old
English Bull dog lovers we’re looking for you! Meet Eliza! This older girl found herself at Kern County Animal Services after she’d been picked up as a stray. Because she was older she was getting overlooked in the shelter environment but we knew we could find her the perfect forever home.
Eliza loves her people, really all people so much! She’s good with adults and children alike. She’s perfectly crate trained and is house trained so long as she’s let out frequently. Due to her age she just can’t hold it as long as a younger dog can. She can be dog selective so proper introductions are a must but she’d also be perfectly happy being your one and only. She’s a very laid back and easy girl and her favorite things include all day naps and all the yummy treats. Looking for a car ride buddy? This girl LOVES to go and is a perfect lady on trips.
Eliza is ready to live out her retirement with a forever family of her very own.

Professor X

Sex: Male
Breed: Pomeranian
Age: 4 years old
There’s nothing more inspirational than a fighter and that’s exactly what Professor X is. This little guy is a testament to the phrase “where there’s a will there’s a way”! Professor X came to us from Kern County Animal Services after he’d been picked up as a stray. When found he was dragging his back legs unable to walk. X-rays revealed no breaks so his injury was a mystery but we suspected nerve damage and the possibility of walking was unknown. Once settled into foster care Professor X made improvements every day. He is now what is called a spinal walker. Basically what that means is his body remembers how to walk although he can’t really feel what he is doing. His walk is a little different than your average dog, just think of the most adorable little drunken sailor lol and you’ll be able to visualize his walk.
Professor X is not only a very determined guy he’s the biggest sweetheart we know! He literally loves everyone he meets. He loves children and adults, dogs of all sizes and even loves rude dogs that get in his face. He’s just HAPPY all the time. He is crate trained but will likely never be 100% house trained due to the nature of his injury. Currently his foster uses belly bands to manage any urine incontinence and picks up the poop accidents as they happen.

Professor X’s perfect home would be somewhere where he wouldn’t be left alone for long periods of time. With his disability he needs to be checked on for incontinence so he doesn’t develop skin issues. He loves children however if there are children in the home they need to be responsible and respectful enough that they don’t pick him up or play too rough with him. We’d hate to see him get injured further and lose the abilities he’s regained. If you’d like to add the sweetest boy who has no idea he’s just a bit different to your family please apply to bring Professor X home today.
