Optimus

Sex: Male

Breed:  Pitbull x

Age: 2 years old

Optimus came to us from the city shelter. He’s a wonderful dog who was getting overlooked simply because of his breed and his shy personality. Although he is timid towards people and lacks confidence he does bond with people he knows and trusts and is a super sweet boy.

Optimus is a ROCKSTAR with other dogs. He can adapt to almost any kind of dog and varying personalities. He is playful with dogs and wants human interaction but we need to build up his confidence so he’s more trusting of people he doesn’t know. He has some separation anxiety but does well with crate training. He learns commands quickly and has already picked up some basic commands and does very well on a leash.

Optimus’ shy nature makes him a great candidate for our Pawsitive Change Prison program. They shy dogs almost always do well and gain so much confidence while they’re in.

He’ll evaluate for the program on February 22nd. If he’s approved for the program he’ll go into N. Kern prison on March 8th and will stay in until he graduates in mid June. We will start accepting applications for Optimus closer to the time he’s scheduled to graduate from the program.
