Edgar

Sex: Male

Breed: Pomeranian

Estimated Date of Birth : 05/26/2007

One exiting with adoption means there’s room for another to take their place. Meet Edgar! This sweet old man was in kind of a pickle. He lived with an older couple and 16 other dogs. He was the father to those 16 dogs. The wife passed away and the husband lost the house. This left 16 dogs living in a truck with no AC. Thankfully many rescues stepped up and all the dogs found rescue placement.

Edgar has been chilling with us while we’ve completed his medical care. His teeth were terrible surprise surprise and every single one of them had to come out. He’s now a little toothless wonder and happily munches on soft food completely content to have those rotten things out of his mouth. Unfortunately with his age and some complications while under anesthesia he’s not able to be neutered (he’s probably extra happy about that lol). We’ve been working to get some irritation around his eyes cleared up and we suspect the irritation was caused from living outside in the elements.

Edgar is a super sweet little old guy but in typical old man fashion he can get fiesty if he really doesn’t like something. He’s not a fan of other un-neutered dogs and pretty much hates the ointment we have to apply around his eyes. He’s also a bit possessive of his food. But other than that he’s happy go lucky and very spry for a pup his age. He’s a sweet old man who would love nothing more than a soft place to lay and a kind family to call his own in his retirement years. Hes good with respectful dogs and children and pretty stinking cute with his frosted little face. If seniors touch your heart the way they touch ours consider giving this lovely old man an amazing forever home.

  • Each adoptable pet will be introduced on Facebook

  • Each pet will have its own profile here on the website

  • All pets will be spayed or neutered

  • All pets will be micro-chipped and shots will be up-to-date

  • Each pet has their own application to complete—make sure you use the right one (linked from their bio)

It’s important to us that each pet goes not just to a great home but to the “right” home. Our foster parents work with each pet to get to know them and their needs.

We try hard to list all of the pertinent info about each pet on the site so you can choose the pet that will fit with your family/lifestyle. If you don’t see a specific pet on the site, he/she is not ready for adoption. Please be patient and wait until the bio is listed. We don’t decide on a “first come, first served” basis but rather on a “who’s the very best fit.” So, don’t panic.

It’s not a quick process. We receive dozens of applications for each pet so please be patient. If you’re shortlisted you’ll be contacted as soon as possible.

If selected to meet one of our pets and you currently have pets, you’ll be asked to do an in-person pet intro; we don’t do the long-distance adoption thing. If you live out of town, plan a fun road trip to meet the pet in person.

Don’t be discouraged if your application is not selected. Remember, we get a lot of them! Trust us, the best fit for you is coming.

If you’re lucky and you do adopt a super amazing pet from Marley’s Mutts, don’t ever hesitate to reach out to us for training, medication, or behavior questions. We’re here for you, and your pet.
