Sex: Female

Breed: Amazing Mutt (we kind of think some sort of bulldog and maybe corgi and shepherd mix)

Estimated Birth Date: 11/28/2019

Winnie is just full of surprises. This poor girl has had it rough! She came into Kern County Animal Services with what appeared to be 2 broken legs and old bite type wounds on her body. Her bite wounds were all old and healing and the even better news was that her breaks were old and also calcified and healed.

This should have been the start to Winnie’s new future but she had one more surprise in store for us. This sweet girl was also pregnant. She is currently settled in to foster care and we expect puppies any time. It’s obvious that Winnie has been a mother before looking over her body structure and we have no doubt she’ll be an amazing mom to these babies but we can also promise her that this will be her very last litter. Once her mama duties are complete she will be able to just focus on herself and live the life she should have had prior to arriving on our care.

Winnie is a sweetheart of a dog with the biggest most soulful eyes you’ve ever seen. She wants nothing more than to give and receive all the love she’s never had. She’s very eager to please and very people oriented. We can’t wait for her to be ready to find that family she’s been craving. She does best with mellow dogs because her energy is pretty mellow and we see her future home including lots of snuggles and attention. Even though Winnie won’t be adoption ready until her babies have been born and weaned if she speaks to you the way she spoke to us get your application in now. We’d love to have a home and family lined up for this sweet girl when she’s ready to finally transition to her future forever.

  • Each adoptable pet will be introduced on Facebook

  • Each pet will have its own profile here on the website

  • All pets will be spayed or neutered

  • All pets will be micro-chipped and shots will be up-to-date

  • Each pet has their own application to complete—make sure you use the right one (linked from their bio)

It’s important to us that each pet goes not just to a great home but to the “right” home. Our foster parents work with each pet to get to know them and their needs.

We try hard to list all of the pertinent info about each pet on the site so you can choose the pet that will fit with your family/lifestyle. If you don’t see a specific pet on the site, he/she is not ready for adoption. Please be patient and wait until the bio is listed. We don’t decide on a “first come, first served” basis but rather on a “who’s the very best fit.” So, don’t panic.

It’s not a quick process. We receive dozens of applications for each pet so please be patient. If you’re shortlisted you’ll be contacted as soon as possible.

If selected to meet one of our pets and you currently have pets, you’ll be asked to do an in-person pet intro; we don’t do the long-distance adoption thing. If you live out of town, plan a fun road trip to meet the pet in person.

Don’t be discouraged if your application is not selected. Remember, we get a lot of them! Trust us, the best fit for you is coming.

If you’re lucky and you do adopt a super amazing pet from Marley’s Mutts, don’t ever hesitate to reach out to us for training, medication, or behavior questions. We’re here for you, and your pet.
